Read what happens next in this intriguing short story.

Short Story, Shadows of the Seagulls

Photo by Oliver Sju00f6stru00f6m on Pexels.com

The Short Story Shadows of the Seagulls first draft is completed. Look for it soon, it will be free to the public. It has been shared in the “Write to Publish” group for critiquing. This is a story within itself, although it is also one chapter out of the book, Marianna of the Sea. You will be able to get an idea of what the book will be like. Shadows of the Seagulls is a story that depicts the sorrow that life can bring, as well as honor and devotion between the protagonist and her true love. There will be a link on this site to the e-book when the short story is ready for publishing.

The characters of Marianna and Paul interact with their best friends in this chapter and the contrast of a nearly perfect relationship is compared to one that is deteriorating at a fast pace.  The comparison reveals a remarkable and emotional climax in the story.  Descriptions of Orange County, California are integrated into the story-line, and gives the reader a good idea of what life was like in the ‘70’s in the area, a time already different than our own.  The setting is interesting and historically accurate.
